Hasselt Chapel
The Hasselt Chapel is the oldest religious monument in Tilburg, dating back to around 1536. To this day, it still attracts many visitors every day due to its warm appearance and pleasant atmosphere. About 100,000 people visit the small chapel each year. Visitors come here for reflection, find silence, come to pray, or to light a candle. In previous years, tens of thousands of candles have been lit here.
The month of May is known as the month of Mary, which is one of the most significant elements of Tilburg. Mary also takes center stage in the Hasselt Chapel as a timeless symbol of mother and child. This month attracts an incredible number of visitors every year. Different generations come to the Hasselt Chapel every year. Each year, there is also a special Mother's Day mass during the month of May, with fun activities planned as well. And, of course, we are present here too during the month of May!
For 3 generations already
Grandpa (Jan van den Dries) started the candy stand around 1940. With just a small table to earn some extra money to provide for his nine children. This was such a success that the stand just kept on growing. Even when father (Jan van den Dries) took it over from his father. In 1980, the stand was expanded, and we now have over 250 types of candy.
After this, it became a tradition to pass the candy stand from father to son. And John van den Dries would also love to pass on his candy stand to his son Rens one day, a true family business.
Van den Dries snoepkes has a great many different types of candy that you won't easily find in the supermarket anymore. However, they continue to evolve and keep up with the times. It is no longer just the candy stand, but also candy cakes, candy bags, and candy tables.
